Personalised one on one experience
If you have had a mastectomy (surgery to remove your breast secondary to cancer) then breast reconstruction can restore your breast shape, appearance and size – helping you to look and feel your best again.
At Dr Mistry Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon, breast reconstruction can be done at the same time as your mastectomy (immediate reconstruction) or as a separate procedure at a later time (delayed reconstruction). This can be months or even be years later.
What Happens During Breast Reconstruction?
There are several different types of breast reconstruction surgery and Dr Mistry will discuss the best option to suit your individual needs. The surgery can either be performed using implants, your own tissue, or a combination of both. While some women are happy with the look of their breast without a nipple, there are also other options. If you would prefer to have the look of a nipple, discuss this with Dr Mistry prior to your breast reconstruction.
Please Note: Don’t be afraid to ask me all the questions you need. It’s important to me, that you feel safe and cared for before, during and after your surgery.
