How much will it cost to see Dr Mistry for the first time?

Dr. Mistry’s consultation fee for a cosmetic surgery appointment is $350.

Subject to the results of your consultation, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of just over $84. You will require a referral from your doctor or online referral provider.

Surgery Costs & Payment Information

When considering surgery, there are four main components to keep in mind:

  • Surgical Fee – Covers the surgeon fee for the procedure. (Assistant Fee may be required)

  • Anaesthetic Fee – Based on the duration of your surgery.

  • Hospital Fee – Varies depending on the hospital you choose.

  • Extra Medications, Consumables or Implants – May be required and quoted for

Your private health fund may cover some of these costs, please discuss further with your health fund provider.

Booking & Payment Policy

  • Full payment must be made at least one week before your procedure.

  • Failure to make full payment by the due date will result in cancellation of the surgery.

This policy ensures that the surgeon, hospital, theatre team, and anaesthetist are reserved exclusively for you.

Payment Options

We accept Visa, Mastercard and direct deposit. We are not affiliated with or endorse any particular financing company.

Funding Your Surgery

We understand that undergoing plastic surgery can be a significant investment, and we want to make it accessible to as many patients as possible. Medical finance companies may provide you with options.

TLC is a finance company that specialises in healthcare financing. TLC offer payment plans for a wide range of plastic surgery procedures.

Will Medicare Cover Me?

Medicare will cover what is deemed essential reconstructive surgery and procedures that have associated Medicare item numbers listed in the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).

Your surgeon will be able to help you understand if your procedure is covered by Medicare, however if you wish to look up a particular type of surgery and their item numbers, refer to the Medicare Benefits Schedule.

Do you “Bulk bill” or “No gap”?

Unfortunately, we are unable to “bulk bill” or “no gap” for most services. There are frequent gaps between the surgeon’s fees and the amount you can receive back as a rebate from Medicare and your health fund. This is because these rebates have continued to lag well behind inflation and do not reflect the true cost of providing health care.

Dr. Mistry will provide a fee estimate for surgery, and we ask that you check with your health fund to determine your specific rebate entitlement. We also invite you to discuss fees with our administration team.

What is your Cancellation policy?

Given the high demand for consultations, we ask that patients give us at least 2 full working days notice if they are not going to be able to attend at their scheduled time to allow us to contact people on our waitlist to reallocate the time.

If appointments are cancelled or rescheduled by the patient with less than 2 full working days notice, they will attract a charge of the full consultation fee. This will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. If you subsequently book another appointment, the normal consultation fee will apply.

Appointments can only be rescheduled once, or the initial fee is lost and the full consultation fee will be payable again.

Please do not attend if you are unwell or may have been exposed to corona virus.

Can I get a quote for surgery over the phone?

For a fully personalised quote, you should book a consultation as every patient has different needs and it is best to discuss procedures being considered directly with your surgeon.

A Newcastle Surgeon That Cares

“I care because it’s my job as a surgeon, as a plastic surgeon, to do the appropriate thing. I want to leave knowing that I can tell a patient, hand on heart, that I did the very best I could and that I looked after them, so when I see them post op later that day or the next morning, that they feel they were in good hands.”
